Forward your business calls to CallerWho
Keep your number and your phone company. Dial one code on your cell, and the calls you miss go to your CallerWho AI receptionist.
Before you start
You need your CallerWho number, the number CallerWho gave you when you signed up. In the console, open Keep Your Number: it shows the codes below with your own CallerWho number already filled in.
Turn it on from your cell phone
- On the cell phone whose number you are forwarding, open the keypad you use to make a normal phone call (not the CallerWho app).
- Dial the code for your carrier, then your 10-digit CallerWho number, with no spaces. The number in the code is always your CallerWho number, never your own cell number. A code with your own number in it sends the calls straight back to your own voicemail.
- Press Call. You'll hear a short confirmation; then hang up.
- Test it: call your cell from another phone and don't answer. CallerWho should pick up.
If your CallerWho number were (310) 555-0142, a Verizon customer would dial *713105550142 and
press Call.
The codes
Shown with the example number 310-555-0142. Put your own CallerWho number in its place.
| Carrier | Ring my cell first | Send every call to CallerWho | Turn off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Verizon | *713105550142 | *723105550142 | *73 |
| AT&T | **004*3105550142# | *21*3105550142# | ##004# (ring first) or #21# (every call) |
| T-Mobile | **004*3105550142# | **21*3105550142# | ##004# (ring first) or ##21# (every call) |
On another carrier, call its support line and ask it to forward your unanswered calls to your CallerWho number.
Which one should I use?
- Ring my cell first (most owners): your cell rings as usual. Calls you don't answer, miss while you're on another call, or get with the phone off go to CallerWho.
- Send every call to CallerWho: your cell doesn't ring at all, and CallerWho answers every call.
How long it rings first
- Verizon rings about 3 to 4 times before forwarding. Verizon sets that, and the phone can't change it.
- AT&T and T-Mobile let you choose. Dial
**61*3105550142**20#(with your CallerWho number) to ring for 20 seconds, about 4 rings, before forwarding. Change the 20 to any of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 seconds. It replaces the ring-first code, and##004#still turns it off.
If it doesn't work
- Missed calls still go to my own voicemail. Check that the number in the code was your CallerWho number, not your cell's. Dial the turn-off code, then dial the code again with the right number. On an iPhone, also turn off Live Voicemail (Settings › Apps › Phone › Live Voicemail).
- Callers hear a busy signal or an error. A digit was probably mistyped. Dial the turn-off code and enter it again.
- I can't tap the code in a text or email. An iPhone won't dial a code with * or # from a link. Press and hold the code to copy it, then paste it into the keypad, or type it in.
Office phones and landlines
RingCentral, Vonage, Comcast Business, Spectrum and most office phone systems set this in the provider's online portal or app, under Call forwarding. Choose forward when unanswered, set it to about 4 rings, and forward to your CallerWho number. If you can't find it, your provider's support line can turn it on for you.
Want to move the number for good?
Forwarding keeps your current phone bill. To move the number to CallerWho permanently, port it from Keep Your Number in the console. Questions? Email contact@callerwho.com.
